Noah Bryfogle

Undergraduate robotics engineer, software developer, and computer person.

About Me

I'm a robotics engineering student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. I've had a heavy interest in anything computer related for as long as I can remember, especially coding. I've been programming in Python since I was 13, and I now have experience with JavaScript, Dart, and more.

I have professional experience in tech support, customer service, and software engineering. I have assisted in developing SaaS applications in both Python (with Django) and TypeScript (with Nextjs/React). In my free time, I build a Flutter-based Android budgeting app.

I'm a fast learner in just about any category you can throw at me. I like dipping my toes into slightly unfamiliar topics and doing whatever interests me. That's exactly how I have experience and interests in many topics ranging from Discord bots, CAD and 3D printing, app development, homelabs and computer networking, to psychology, civil advocacy, writing, and more.

Projects

I've done a lot of software projects in many different languages. When I was younger, I made a lot of complex Discord bots in Python. I've made software backends, Python GUI applications (painful, I know), standalone applications, app extensions, and mobile apps.

While some of my projects remain closed-source, you can find a catalogue of whatever I've been doing on my GitHub.

Here's a list of some of my more noteworthy projects:

Budgeteer

Budgeteer is a mobile app written with Flutter and Dart to help track your expenses and manage a budget. It's built with an offline-first philosophy and uses the cloud only to save data. Complex queries and data analysis is done entirely on-device.

Student Book Exchange

A Next.js-based website that allows students to list their course materials for sale or exchange. This comes as a result of endlessly hearing students ask each other if they have old course materials, paired with the idea of simply exchanging materials instead of outright buying or renting them.

DeFlock Carbon

A pivot from my traditional content, DeFlock Carbon County is an HTML/Tailwind + Flask website I built to encourage my community to reject invasive government technology. It allows users to view and download all of the public records I retrieved from my local municipalities. This majorly public project forced me to learn the importance of caching and security in a website accessed by many.
